X -- XTENDED FAMILY

We get to spend lots of time with Ty's family because they live so close to us. Ty's parents live about an hour away and all 3 of Ty's sisters live within 2 hours away. We get together quite often for birthday parties, holidays, and family dinners. In Ty's family we have a fun birthday tradition. We get together every other month and celebrate all the birthdays in those 2 months. We get the kids gifts and the adults get a card with money in it from everyone. We do lots of fun games and have cake and ice cream, of course. :)

As you can see, Ty's mom is VERY involved with her grand kids. She is a teacher, but has Friday's off so she'll spend weekends playing her grand kids. She took all of the kids to the circus last year, which was a hit! Bryson loves to call Grandma on the phone and tell her everything we've been doing and he can't wait to go to Grandma's house because she has lots of big trucks and a big school bus!

We don't get to spend as much time with Tif's family. They live an entire state away so we see them on Holidays and other special occasions. But, it seems as though Bryson just picks up where he left off the last time he saw them. He loves his Uncle James and Uncle Sam and won't leave their side whenever we get to see them. Tif is very close with her sisters and we love to get together and go to dinner or share recipes with each other.
